A meal turned into a harrowing ordeal for food vloggers Nina Santiago and Patrick Blackwood when a vehicle crashed into Cuvée’s Culinary Creations on Eldridge Parkway in west Houston on Saturday, shattering their dining experience — and a glass wall.

The incident, reported by the Harris County Sheriff’s Office, occurred at 4:41 p.m. on August 17 as the pair recorded a video for their YouTube channel, Unrated EX Files.

According to a police report, a female driver of a black SUV mistakenly thought she had shifted her vehicle into park. When she lifted her foot off the brake, the car rolled forward, striking the building and breaking the glass.

The video, posted Monday, captures the moment the couple enjoyed salmon sliders—moaning “Mmmm” as they took bites — before the wall of glass collapsed onto their table. Miraculously, they scrambled to safety as debris rained down.

“No warning at all, glass shattered everywhere, chaos erupted, and it hit right next to Patrick on the outside of the booth,” the YouTube description noted. “We were inches from disaster, but by some miracle, we’re both okay, just shaken and forever changed.”

The full video later showed the pair in the hospital, displaying cuts and bruises.

“I’m just blessed. … Thank you, universe,” Blackwood said. “I’m just blessed and grateful for everything, you feel me?”

Santiago, visibly shaken, recorded herself awaiting stitches, saying, “This is the second accident this month. … The fact that we walked away from both accidents … maybe I’m just delusional right now, but I’m just like, it’s like I want to break down and cry and I just can’t.”

Blackwood added, “Still here. … I was not expecting this bulls— right here. But, um, I’m glad I’m alive.”

Both were released from the hospital and later returned to Cuvée’s for brunch, determined to overcome any lingering PTSD from the incident.

“We came back just to make sure that they had peace of mind and also because the food is actually amazing,” Santiago said.

Photos on their social media accounts revealed lacerations, with Blackwood sporting a stitched cut along his jaw and Santiago showing wounds on her face and hands.

“This experience showed me who truly matters; life’s too short for grudges or anger,” Santiago wrote. “Let go, forgive, live in the now, and cherish those around you this could’ve been our last meal.”

Cuvée’s, which has reopened while awaiting repair estimates, shared the video on Instagram, stating, “It was definitely a crazy weekend at Cuvées. We’re just thanking God everyone is safe!”

The restaurant added, per NBC News, “The chef, influencers, guests, and staff were all blessed to not be severely harmed. We appreciate the love and support.”
