Several organizations have arranged donations to Haven for Hope to support programs and buildings that assist the unhoused.

BLCCS, LLC, an engineering firm based in San Antonio, made a major donation. The company donated a massive HVAC unit that is being installed in the YMCA building, and last year, it donated an AC unit for the chapel.

“This is the second year in a row we have been able to donate to Haven for Hop,” Shannon Mills, owner of BLCCS, LLC, said in a post on Facebook. “It”s great to do one year, but when you start doing it multiple years in a row, it becomes a thing, so this year it has kind of become our thing, and we are going to do this as long as we can so hopefully every year we will have a donation like this.”

Director of Facilities for Haven for Hope Earvin Rinehardt explained that the YMCA is one of the organizations that partners with Haven and provides daycare and after-school programs for children at the campus.

“They cannot be without AC, so this is a huge, huge help for Haven for Hop,” Rinehardt said. “We greatly appreciate our partnership and everything Shannon and BLCCS does for us.”

Mills said that her company provides various services to businesses, from design and construction to management.

“I love non-profits, and it is cool to have a team that loves non-profits,” Mills added. “Of course, we do for-profit work, but with that profit, we are able to give back. Like I’ve always said, the bigger we get, the more we can give. Hopefully, we will have more to come.”

Haven has also received recent donations from several other organizations. The Charity Ball Association donated $25,000 to repair the family dorm elevators. Haven for Hope announced the donation on May 21 in a Facebook post.

The Charity Ball Association specifically raises funds to donate to non-profit groups that provide services to children. According to the association’s website, they have donated $28 million to non-profit agencies.

Halff, another San Antonio engineering firm, recently donated to support Haven’s Corporate Cup. The amount or type of donation was not disclosed in a post on Facebook, but Halff has previously donated hygiene items, clothing, first aid kits, and other necessities.

Yesterday, Haven announced a $2,500 donation in a Facebook post to support the non-profit’s Family Movie Night events.

Haven for Hope is a 22-acre campus that provides a broad range of services to people without housing and focuses on creating real change to reduce chronic homelessness in Bexar County and beyond. According to a statement from the City of San Antonio, the program is considered a model for other cities that can be replicated and has successfully decreased homelessness.
