Texas Land Commissioner Dawn Buckingham, M.D., looks to work with the Trump administration to facilitate the promised mass deportation of illegal aliens.

“We are happy to be a willing to partner with any [federal] agency willing to help,” Buckingham told The Dallas Express in an exclusive interview.

As previously reported by DX, Buckingham offered President-elect Donald Trump the use of a 1,400-acre Starr County ranch next to the Texas-Mexico border to build detention centers in preparation for the incoming president’s promised deportation of illegal aliens.

Buckingham told the Dallas Express that President Trump’s electoral landslide victory sent a clear message that border security is a top priority.

She also highlighted how Starr County, where the proposed detention center is expected to be built, is the most Hispanic county in the country and flipped from a deep blue county to support Trump in 2024, something that hadn’t happened in 132 years, according to Fox News.

“I think with this mandate, people are wanting to see local state and federal government working together,” Buckingham explained. “What they want to see is the rule of law, so we will work with anybody with similarly aligned goals to get that done.”

Buckingham is confident that the second Trump administration will successfully implement its border security policies, including building the long-promised southern wall.

“Another huge benefit is [Republicans] are not just controlling the House, but the Senate. I anticipate we are going to see a Trump train of activity and productivity right out of the gate,” Buckingham told The Dallas Express.

Some Republican members of Congress, however, including U.S. Rep. Tony Gonzalez (R-San Antonio), have voiced opposition to Trump’s mass deportation plans.

“If the message is, ‘We’re here to deport your abuelita,’ that’s not going to work well,” Gonzales said, reported the Texas Tribune. “It has to be one of holding these hardened criminals accountable.”

When asked about Republican support, Buckingham told the Dallas Express that securing the border and removing violent criminal illegal aliens who have harmed and killed Americans should be common sense.

She believes Republicans will ultimately unite on the issue of removing illegal aliens.

“We all should be united to get these violent criminals out of our country,” Buckingham said.

To draw attention to the land offered to Trump, Buckingham will hold a kick-off event at the newly acquired 1,401-acre ranch on November 26, 2024, at 10 AM to announce the construction of a border wall in Starr County.
