(Texas Scorecard) – According to U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement, 174 criminal illegal aliens have been deported from Texas.
The illegal aliens were deported to Mexico by ICE’s Enforcement and Removal Operations division in the Houston field office. The deportations took place between March 17-28 and included 24 confirmed gang members.
As a group, these 174 foreign nationals were accountable for a total of 610 criminal convictions and 415 previous removals.
One individual was convicted of illegal entry four times, as well as DWI, drug charges, and fraud. According to ICE, he had already been removed from the country 39 times.
Texas Scorecard reached out to ICE and asked what assurance Texans have that these criminals will be prevented from returning to the country yet again, but has not received a response.
ERO Houston Field Office Director Bret Bradford said Friday, “This is just a small snapshot of the amazing work that the brave men and women at ICE do every day to enhance public safety in Southeast Texas.”
“Each day they put their lives on the line to apprehend and remove dangerous criminal aliens, transnational gang members and foreign fugitives who have illegally entered the U.S. and are preying on innocent, hardworking Texans,” he continued.
ICE is continuing to round up and deport criminal illegal aliens around the country.
A foreign national wanted for rape in Ecuador was recently apprehended in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
Jose Luis Romero Diaz originally crossed into Texas at El Paso in November 2023 and was arrested by U.S. Border Patrol agents. He was served a notice to appear in court and released on an order of recognizance.
He was arrested again in New York in November 2024 for violent robbery. In January 2025, Romero Diaz was transferred from New York to an ICE facility in Philadelphia, where he remained until his deportation.
