The Women’s National Football Conference (WNFC) announced the full 2022 season schedule. The third season of women’s tackle football will begin on April 2, 2022, spanning eight weeks. The WNFC is currently comprised of 18 teams playing in two divisions.

Over the offseason, the WNFC signed a seven-figure marketing deal with Vyre Network that will ensure every game in 2022 is available live on various streaming services. Vyre aired the IX Cup Championship game last season from Apogee Stadium in Denton, TX.

The Texas Elite Spartans won the IX Championship game last season, their second consecutive season undefeated. The network recently completed integration with Samsung to allow streaming on Samsung TV.

The Texas Elite Spartans will look to continue the tradition of excellence that has defined them and made them one of the most difficult teams to face. Throughout the 2021 season, no team managed to score a point on the Spartans until the Conference Championship game. In all, the Spartans surrendered only 10 points in 2021 while scoring a total of 379 points against their opponents.

In Week One, the Elite Spartans will travel to face the Kansas City Glory. The Elite Spartans will face Kansas City twice, including the last game of the season. Their first home game will be against the Houston Heat on April 9. The team will also play against the Mississippi Panthers in Week 4, the Washington Prodigy in Week 5, and Alabama Fire in Week 7. Each team will have two bye weeks with a league-wide bye following the end of the season.

The Atlantic and Pacific Conference playoffs will occur the weekend of June 9-11. Jacksonville, Florida, will host the Atlantic Division, while San Diego will host the Pacific Division. The IX Cup Championship, named after Title IX that prohibits sex-based discrimination in education, will be played at the Star in Frisco this season over the June 24-26 weekend.

National open tryouts were held on October 22, 2021. Teams will begin training camp in March, with final rosters coming together by the end of that month ahead of the season kick-off. The WNFC held its inaugural season in 2019 and completed play before the Coronavirus pandemic began. The league suspended play for 2020 due to the pandemic but was able to resume play in 2021.

The WNFC welcomed the addition of the Los Angeles Legends team this offseason after the Los Angeles Bobcats disbanded. The Nebraska NiteHawks and the Carolina Queens will not play in 2022.

Their Number One-ranked offense and defense makes the Texas Elite Spartans the early-season favorites to return to the title game, while the Pacific Division is far more competitive. The San Diego Rebellion narrowly defeated the Utah Falconz last season to advance to the IX Cup, and both teams are gearing up for a difficult season in 2022.
