The Dallas Cowboys finally made a move to trade for another wide receiver, but where do Ceedee Lamb and George Pickens rank among the best in the league?

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Pickens was traded to Dallas on Wednesday in exchange for future draft compensation.

The addition of Pickens to this offense is expected to be a smooth transition. His deep-threat abilities should fit well alongside Lamb, who largely works from the slot and focuses on creating yards after the catch.

Lamb and Pickens’ duo at wide receiver is already one of the most formidable in the entire league, and very few teams in the NFL possess a better combination of receivers.

Realistically, just five teams have an argument for a better duo of wide receivers on the roster.

The Cincinnati Bengals feature the best wide receiver duo in the NFL: Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins. During the 2024 season, they combined for 2,619 receiving yards and 27 touchdowns.

Similarly, the reigning Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles have a clear argument for the better wide receiver duo, with A.J. Brown and Devonta Smith, combining for 1,911 and 15 touchdowns despite playing just 13 games each last season.

This duo also receives a slight bump for their playoff performance, as each player was a significant piece on a team that dominated the NFC Playoffs and Super Bowl.

The third duo ahead of the Cowboys is the Minnesota Vikings, featuring Justin Jefferson and Jordan Addison as the team’s two main pass catchers.

Jefferson is widely considered the best wide receiver in the NFL. Addison is regarded as one of the best second options, as the duo combined to contribute 2,408 receiving yards and 19 touchdowns.

Finally, the last team with a significant argument over the Cowboys is the Miami Dolphins, with Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle remaining as one of the most lethal duos in the entire league.

Hill and Waddle combined for only 1,703 receiving yards and just 8 touchdowns last season. Both were dealing with lingering injuries and instability at the quarterback position for large portions of the year.

The playstyle of these two players contributes heavily to their ranking on this list, with Hill being one of the fastest players in the league and Waddle being difficult to take down once the ball is in his hands.

However, both Hill and Waddle struggled at times last season, and the Cowboys’ duo could quickly pass these two during the upcoming season.

After these four teams, there are a few teams that could have an argument for having the fifth-best duo in the league, though Dallas likely has the best case due to the combination of production and playstyle.

Teams such as the Los Angeles Rams, featuring Puka Nacua and Davante Adams, and the Detroit Lions, featuring Amon-Ra St. Brown and Jameson Williams, are the two teams with the best cases for having the better duo.

Following these teams, there is a steep dropoff amongst the best duos in the league due to various factors, including age, playstyle, and overall production.

Regardless, the Cowboys have quickly improved their offensive skill position and turned themselves into one of the most potent offensive units in the league.
