Ultimate Fighting Champion (UFC) CEO Dana White has confirmed that the league plans to make history with its first-ever fight on the White House lawn next Independence Day.

White announced Tuesday that the UFC will host a fight card at the White House on July 4, 2026, in celebration of the United States of America’s 250th birthday.

“It’s absolutely going to happen,” he said to the Associated Press. “Think about that, the 250th birthday of the United States of America, the UFC will be on the White House South Lawn live on CBS.”

Trump, a long-time supporter of both the UFC and White, first floated the idea last month during a campaign event, telling supporters that White is “going to do it” because he is “one of a kind.”

“We’re going to have a UFC fight, think of this, on the grounds of the White House. We have a lot of land there,” said the President, according to Time.

Though the fight card and participating athletes have yet to be announced, speculation is mounting.

Jon Jones, who recently retired, hinted on social media that he’s “training again” since hearing Trump’s announcement, while Conor McGregor has publicly expressed interest in participating.

Meanwhile, White has said he is prepared to load the fight with the best possible matchups, recently stating on a podcast that “Everybody wants to fight on this card.”

“Literally everybody. Everybody. Here’s the thing, we’re a year away, so the whole UFC landscape will change over the next year. We’ll see where we’re at. We will absolutely, positively put on the baddest card of all time. This is going to be like an exceptional pay-per-view card,” White said on a podcast in July, as reported by Bleacher Report.

Although exact plans have not been made available at this moment, White confirmed that he has spoken with Trump and is currently working with the First Lady to finalize the event details.

“When he called me and asked me to do it, he said, ‘I want Ivanka in the middle of this,’” White explained, per CBS News. “So Ivanka reached out to me, and her and I started talking about the possibilities, where it would be and, you know, I put together all the renderings.”

Moving forward, the two sides plan to meet later in the month.

The White House event headlines a sweeping shift in how UFC matches will reach viewers.

The organization recently signed a seven-year broadcast rights deal worth a total of $7.7 billion with Paramount, launching a new era where fights are available on the direct-to-consumer platform Paramount+ and select major events simulcast on CBS.

This shift marks a major decision as the UFC will end its pay-per-view model, making high-profile bouts more accessible to fans in 2026.
