Dallas split a pair of games this week against the Toronto Raptors that featured a stunning 59-foot buzzer-beater by the Raptors and a sprained ankle for superstar Luka Doncic. NFL Combine Begins the Draft Experience with Record-Setting Performance

Texas Longhorn Xavier Worthy set the NFL Combine on fire with a blazing 4.21-second 40-yard dash, setting a new record at the event. Whether his incredible time turns into NFL results is a long way from being clear, as reported by NBC, but he immediately upped his draft stock ahead of Draft Day. The draft is still two months away, but football fans need only wait until the end of the month for action to begin with the kickoff of the newly-formed USFL on March 30.

Dallas Baptist University (DBU) got the action started at the Frisco College Baseball Classic on Friday with a 4-3 win over Arizona, but the team couldn’t overcome a dominant performance from Indiana on Saturday, losing 9-7. DBU will wrap up the action in Frisco with a game against Alabama on Sunday afternoon. Alabama demolished Indiana on Friday 12-0, then picked apart Arizona 7-6 on Saturday.

Texas Rangers Offense Taking Shape in Quest to Defend World Series Title

The Dallas Express reported that the Texas Rangers were close to finalizing their offense and will see six players return to the lineup. General Manager Bruce Bochy said the team might “be even better” than last season, in which the Rangers finished in the top five in the MLB in batting average, home runs, RBIs, and hits.

Stars Make Trade for Defensive Player, Win Shoot-Out Over Sharks for Back-to-Back Wins

The Stars made moves to add defenseman Chris Tanev in a deal with the Calgary Flames, which had just traded for Tanev with the New Jersey Red Devils, as reported by The Dallas Express. Dallas gave up a 2026 draft pick to bring Tanev to Texas. After back-to-back losses early in the week, the Stars rebounded, capping things off with a tremendous shoot-out victory over the San Jose Sharks. The Stars remain atop the Western Conference and hold a two-point advantage over the Jets.
