The Dallas Stars and the Texas Rangers were in Seattle Tuesday, while the Frisco RoughRiders hosted the Wichita Wind Surge in the first six-game set.

NHL PLAYOFFS

Dallas Stars (series tied 2-2)

Last Game: Stars 6, Seattle Kraken 3

The Stars scored five goals in the second period to break the game open and fought off a late rally. Seattle cut the lead to two with just under five minutes remaining, and Dallas’ Max Domi ended the game with an empty-net breakaway goal after a Seattle scoring chance bounced the other direction.

Noteworthy: Stars forward Joe Pavelski scored his sixth goal of the series Tuesday. He is now one of three active NHL players with at least 70 career playoff goals — joining Sidney Crosby and Alexander Ovechkin. The 70 goals tie him for 19th all-time with Detroit’s Steve Yzerman.

— Forward Mason Marchment left the game with an injury during the first period and was ruled out for the rest of the game. Dallas has yet to release any updates on his status.

— The Stars come home for Game 5 tied 2-2.

Texas Rangers (21-14, first in American League West)

Last Game: Seattle Mariners 5, Rangers 0

Noteworthy: Catcher Jonah Heim extended his hitting streak to eight games with a single in the second inning. Heim went 2-4 Tuesday and is hitting .321 on the season.

— Despite the loss, the Rangers remain in first place in the AL West and have the fourth-best record in the MLB.

— Texas has not won a series in Seattle since the 2019 season.

— The Rangers have placed outfielder Travis Jankowski on the injured list and recalled catching prospect Sam Huff.
