The Frisco RoughRiders were the only team in action in the Dallas-Fort Worth area Thursday.

MINOR LEAGUE BASEBALL
Frisco Rough Riders (20-27, fifth in Texas League South Division, ninth in AA Texas League)
Last Game: San Antonio Missions 2, RoughRiders 0
San Antonio scored both its runs in the third inning when Tirso Ornelas and Yorman Rodriguez homered off Owen White. The RoughRiders had two runners on base in the ninth, but Dustin Harris hit into a double play at first base.
Noteworthy: The RoughRiders were shut out in back-to-back games for the first time since August 2021. The RoughRiders have been held scoreless in four of their 47 games this season.
— White allowed two runs on five hits while striking out five hitters across six innings in the loss. He is now 1-3 on the season with a 4.08 ERA in nine starts.
— Reliever Triston Polley was transferred to Triple-A Round Rock before the game.
— Nick Krauth will start Friday’s game after being reassigned from Round Rock earlier this week.

Texas Rangers (35-20, first in American League West)
Noteworthy: The Rangers hold a 2.5-game lead in the AL West.
Texas traded right-handed pitcher Ricky Vanasco to the Los Angeles Dodgers for 19-year-old left-handed pitcher Luis Valdez. Valdez made eight appearances at the Single-A level this season and signed with the Dodgers in November 2019.
— Starting pitcher Nathan Eovaldi was named the Ranger’s Player of the Month for May. Eovaldi went 4-0 with an 0.96 ERA, 31 strikeouts, and an 0.85 WHIP.
— Third baseman Josh Jung led all American League rookies in OPS, slugging percentage, hits, home runs, RBIs, and total bases while hitting .318 in May.
