The Texas Rangers and Frisco RoughRiders resumed their baseball seasons, and the Dallas Wings looked to stop a three-game losing streak.

The Rangers’ five-game winning streak ended with a shutout loss against the Cardinals. The game remained scoreless until the eighth inning when St. Louis outfielder Alec Burleson launched a solo home run off Jon Gray. Gray pitched a complete game and struck out 12, but Texas went 0-4 with runners in scoring position and left nine runners on base.
Noteworthy: The Rangers hold firm atop the AL West.
— Marcus Semien went 0-4, ending his hitting streak at a career-best 25 games.
— Texas finishes its six-game home stand with a 5-1 record. The Rangers are 21-9 at home this season.
— The Rangers enter a three-game series against the American league-leading Tampa Bay Rays in Tampa this weekend.

Frisco RoughRiders (24-28, fifth in Texas League South Division, eighth in AA Texas League)
Last Game: RoughRiders 9, Corpus Christi Hooks 0
The RoughRiders have won three in a row and had plenty of offense on Wednesday. Nick Tanielu added another RBI in the top of the first, and Thomas Saggese homered as Frisco took a 3-0 lead. Luisangel Acuna, Jax Biggers, and Dustin Harris also drove in runs as the RoughRiders scored six times in the final two innings.
Noteworthy: Starting pitcher Owen White allowed just one hit through seven innings while striking out six. Frisco pitching held Corpus Christi to just three hits.
— The RoughRiders earned their second shutout win of the season and improved to 9-3 when leading after the first inning this season.
— Nick Krauth takes the mound as the series continues in Corpus Christi on Thursday.

Dallas Wings (4-3, second in Western Conference)
Last Game: Wings 84, Phoenix Mercury 79
Dallas fell behind early and trailed most of the game but finished on a 12-2 run over the last 4:08 of the game, taking its first lead on an Arike Ogunbowale layup with 2:28 left. Odyssey Sims added another layup to increase the lead to four, and Phoenix cut it to two with 21.2 remaining before Dallas sank three free throws to close out the win.
Noteworthy: Satou Sabally led the Wings with 24 points, and Ogunbowale and Kalani Brown added 17 apiece. Rookie Maddy Siegrist, last year’s leading collegiate scorer, finished with a career-high 14.
— Dallas is 3-0 at home this season.
— Phoenix’s Brittney Griner, a Baylor alum, made her first return to Texas since being released from a Russian prison in December. Griner led Phoenix with 24 points, while guard Diana Taurasi had seven assists.
