The Texas Rangers finished a two-game series, while the Frisco RoughRiders continued their week in Midland. Here is what happened on the field and behind the scenes.

MLB
Texas Rangers (18-12, first in American League West)
Last Game: Arizona Diamondbacks 12, Rangers 7

Josh Jung’s two-run home run pulled the Rangers out of a 6-2 hole, but Arizona scored five runs in the seventh off Josh Sborz, Jose Leclerc, and Ian Kennedy to reclaim the lead. Lourdes Gurriel Jr. added the 12th run with a home run in the eighth, while Texas could not score any runs for the rest of the game.

Noteworthy: Texas entered the game on a four-game win streak and had a chance to sweep a two-game series against Arizona in Arlington for the first time ever.

The Rangers’ division lead was cut to 1.5 games with the loss.

After going hitless on Tuesday, Jung went 3-5 with two home runs and three RBIs on Wednesday.

Texas finishes its six-game homestand with a 4-2 record. The Rangers hit the road for the next 10 days and play the Los Angeles Angels on Friday. Dane Dunning is listed as the probable starter in place of Jacob deGrom.

Next Up: Rangers at Los Angeles Angels (17-14), 8:38 p.m. CT Friday.
