The Texas Rangers continued their hot start on Tuesday while the Frisco RoughRiders looked to continue their winning streak.

Here is what happened on the field and behind the scenes.

MLB
Texas Rangers (11-6, first in American League West)
Last Game: Rangers 12, Kansas City Royals 2

A five-run sixth inning helped the Rangers pull away with an 8-2 lead, and Adolis Garcia capped the scoring with a three-run home run in the eighth. Nathan Eovaldi held the Royals to two runs in six innings, while the bullpen kept Kansas City off the board over the final three.

Noteworthy: With a three-run home run as part of the sixth-inning explosion, Marcus Semien has homered in three consecutive games. He now has four home runs on the season and is hitting .271 with 16 RBIs.

The Rangers improve to 4-1 through the first five games of a six-game road trip.

Texas leads the AL West by two games and is tied for the second-most wins in the American League with the Toronto Blue Jays. Only the 15-3 Tampa Bay Rays have more.

Last Game: Arkansas Travelers 5, RoughRiders 2

Arkansas got three runs in five innings off Texas Rangers’ No.4 prospect Jack Leiter as the Travelers built a 3-0 lead. Frisco added two in the bottom of the fourth to make it a one-run game, but Arkansas added two insurance runs in the later innings. The RoughRiders rallied in the bottom of the ninth, loading the bases and bringing the winning run to the plate, but Luisangel Acuna hit into a double play to end the game.

Noteworthy: The RoughRiders have now lost five games by a combined 14 runs.

Outfielder Evan Carter walked four times on Tuesday and has reached base in nine of Frisco’s first 10 games. His .378 batting average ranks sixth in the Texas League, and his 1.180 OPS ranks fourth.

Frisco pitching leads the Texas League with a 2.76 ERA, but its offense ranks near the bottom of the league over the first 10 games.
