The Rangers won two out of three against Toronto over the weekend. Texas lost a pitchers’ duel on Friday as Danny Jansen’s two-run home run in the fifth accounted for all of Toronto’s runs. The Rangers responded with three homers on Saturday to earn a two-run win, and the offense scored double-digit runs for the 18th time this season in Sunday’s win.

Noteworthy: Texas leads the AL West by 4.5 games over the Los Angeles Angels.

— Outfielder Leody Taveras went 4-11 with two home runs, three RBIs, and two runs scored in the series. He is now hitting .302 on the season.

— Catcher Jonah Heim has homered in back-to-back games.

— The Rangers won on Father’s Day for the first time since 2019.

Frisco RoughRiders (28-34, fourth in Texas League South, seventh in Texas League)

Frisco lost two of three over the weekend to split last week’s series in Northwest Arkansas. A three-run double from Jorge Bonifacio led the Naturals to a win on Friday, and Northwest Arkansas walked off with a win on a Tyler Cropley single on Saturday. Thomas Saggese and Trevor Hauver put Frisco on top on Sunday, and the RoughRiders held on to earn the series split.

Noteworthy: Frisco is 7-5 in one-run games this season.

–Reliever Alex Speas continues to produce for the RoughRiders. He is 2-0 with an 0.72 ERA and 0.96 WHIP in 21 appearances out of the bullpen.

— Outfielder Kellen Strahm is on a nine-game hitting streak.

Dallas Wings (5-6, tied second in Western Conference)
Last Game: Seattle Storm 109, Wings 103

Arike Ogunbowale scored a career-high 41 points, but Dallas lost a late lead. Seattle trailed by a point entering the fourth quarter and began the quarter on a 13-5 run to open up a seven-point lead. Ogunbowale pulled Dallas within one, but Seattle was able to pull away behind Jewell Lloyd, who finished with 39 points.

Noteworthy: Dallas is 2-5 this month after starting the season 3-1. The Wings have lost three in a row.

— Ogunbowale’s performance was the 25th time a WNBA player has scored at least 40 points in a game since the league began. It was the 14th time she has scored at least 30 points in a game in her career.

— The 103-point total marks Dallas’ first 100-point game of the season.
