The 2025 schedule presents several challenging matchups for the Longhorns.

Texas will host six games in Austin, play one neutral site contest in Dallas, and travel for five road games.

Among the opponents are four teams ranked in the preseason poll, including two top-five matchups against No. 2 Ohio State and No. 4 Georgia.

Texas also faces No. 17 Florida and No. 21 Texas A&M.

Additionally, Oklahoma, Arkansas, and Vanderbilt each received votes for the Top-25 rankings and will face off against the Longhorns during the season.

Notably, the Longhorns were not the only Texas team ranked inside the Top-25 preseason poll, with the SMU Mustangs entering the season as the No. 16 team in the country.

SMU put together an incredibly impressive season in 2024 despite an eventual loss in the first round of the College Football Playoffs, finishing with an overall record of 11-3 and a conference record of 8-0 to finish second in the Atlantic Coast Conference.

The Mustangs managed to accumulate a total of 555 points to finish just slightly ahead of the Florida Gators in the rankings.

Finally, Texas Tech rounded out the Texas schools in these rankings after receiving 261 total points and a ranking of 24th overall.

The Red Raiders finished the 2024 season with a record of 8-5 and a Big 12 record of 6-3, with the future of this program looking bright as many key players are set to return to the field next season.
