There are plenty of changes in this week’s AP Top 25 men’s college basketball poll.
Most notably among the local teams, TCU made its first appearance of the season at No.19 after wins over Oklahoma (now No.15) and Houston (now No.5). Both opponents dropped after losing twice last week.
The Horned Frogs are one of five new teams in the rankings, along with Texas Tech, Ole Miss, Iowa State, and Dayton.
The UConn Huskies are now the No.1 team in the country after a week of upsets that saw 13 ranked teams lose at least once. Gonzaga was among those teams, and the Bulldogs’ streak of 143 consecutive weeks in the 25 is over. Houston now owns the longest streak at 75 straight weeks.
The Texas Longhorns also fell out of the rankings, as did Clemson, Colorado State, and San Diego State.
Despite the Longhorns’ absence, the Big 12 continues to lead the country with eight ranked teams after the additions of TCU, Iowa State, and Texas Tech.
