The Dallas Stars have officially released training camp information and the preseason schedule for the 2024-2025 season following a disappointing six-game loss to the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Finals.

Dallas announced the information in a news release, noting that training camp will officially take place September 18-21 at Comerica Center in Frisco. At this time, further plans regarding a more detailed timeline are unknown.

The Stars will play six preseason games before the regular season, three of which will be at American Airlines Center. The first of these matchups will be against the St. Louis Blues on Saturday, September 21. The team will then travel to take on the Colorado Avalanche on Monday, September 23.

These two games will be followed up by two straight in AAC, with the first on Wednesday, September 25, against the Minnesota Wild and the second on Friday, September 27, against the Colorado Avalanche.

Games 5 and 6 of the team’s preseason will be away games on Sunday, September 29, against the Minnesota Wild and on Thursday, October 3, against the St. Louis Blues.

The Stars will look much different heading into the 2024-2025 season due to a combination of trades and retirements of key players.

The first of these changes came when forward Joe Pavelski announced he would be retiring from the league, claiming that he had “known for a while” that this past season would likely be the last of his 18-year career, as previously reported by The Dallas Express.

Another change coming from the Stars organization is the trade of Ty Dellandrea to the San Jose Sharks earlier this week.

Dallas, which selected Dellandrea with the 13th overall pick in the 2018 NHL Draft, received a fourth-round selection in the 2025 NHL Draft from the Winnipeg Jets in return.

While Dallas may look to the NHL Draft to improve its roster leading into next season, the team owns just the 29th pick in the draft, with the team’s selections in the second and third rounds belonging to other teams.
