The Dallas Stars have made a flurry of announcements over the last few days as the NHL distributes its annual awards and prepares for the 2023 Draft.

On Tuesday, the league announced the 2023-24 schedule for all 32 teams.

Dallas will open its season on Thursday, October 12, against the St. Louis Blues at the American Airlines Center and follow it with away games against Vegas and Anaheim.

The Stars have multiple long homestands, including the season’s final four games, and will play on Black Friday and New Year’s Eve.

Dallas also announced it has signed forward Evgenii Dadonov to a two-year contract extension worth $2.25 million annually, keeping him with the team through 2024-25.

The Stars acquired Dadonov in a February trade that sent Denis Gurianov to the Montreal Canadiens, and he amassed 15 points in 23 regular season games and 10 points in 16 playoff games before suffering a sprained MCL against the Vegas Golden Knights.

Dadonov is in his second stint in the NHL after briefly returning to Russia from 2014 to 2017. He has also played for the Florida Panthers, Ottawa Senators, and Vegas Golden Knights.

He has 298 career points in nine NHL seasons.

“Re-signing Evgenii was high on our priority list,” General Manager Jim Nill said in an official press release. “He was a key player for us down the stretch, and he elevated his game on the big stage during the playoffs. We’re happy to get a deal done that works for both sides.”
