The Dallas Cowboys have signed wide receiver Parris Campbell to strengthen their depth at the position, as CeeDee Lamb is expected to be sidelined for multiple weeks due to a high ankle sprain.

Campbell joins Dallas as a member of the practice squad, according to a social media post from the Cowboys’ Public Relations, but the team is likely to elevate him at some point in the coming weeks to add more depth at the position.

The 28-year-old wide receiver spent the early portion of his career as a member of the Indianapolis Colts before bouncing between multiple teams over the past two seasons, including a stint with the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles last season.

Entering the 2025 preseason, Campbell joined the Cowboys in preparation for training camp but was later released from the team after suffering a hamstring injury that kept him sidelined for some time.

Dallas waived Campbell with an injury settlement when the hamstring issue first arose; however, he has now been medically cleared to play and will rejoin the team with hopes of making the game roster.

While Campbell did not produce impressive on-field statistics last season, finishing with just six total receptions and 30 receiving yards, the lessons learned during a run to the Super Bowl could help this Cowboys team during the upcoming stretch in the season.

Dallas initially believed Lamb’s timeline to be on the earlier side of this expectation. Still, the signing of Campbell could be an indication that the superstar wide receiver could miss more time than initially anticipated.

As previously reported by The Dallas Express, Lamb is expected to miss another one to three weeks due to a high ankle sprain suffered early in the Week 3 matchup against the Chicago Bears.

Although Lamb has established himself as one of the premier wide receivers in the NFL, Dallas still managed to produce 40 points against one of the best defenses in the league in Week 4 against the Green Bay Packers.

Additionally, Dallas has dealt with significant injury issues along the offensive line, as guard Tyler Booker and center Cooper Beebe have both been placed on the injured reserve list due to high ankle sprains, as reported by DX.

Moving forward, Dallas has two road matchups against the New York Jets in Week 5 and the Carolina Panthers in Week 6, followed by a home matchup against the Washington Commanders in Week 7.

There is currently no expectation for when Lamb will return from injury. A divisional matchup against the Commanders could be an ideal time for the superstar wide receiver to make his return.

Dallas currently has a record of 1-2-1 following a Week 4 tie against the Packers, meaning this team must begin stringing together wins to have a reasonable chance to make the 2025 postseason.
