Lovejoy senior outfielder Austin Marshall has signed a letter of intent to play at Central Christian College.
Leopards coach Jason Wilson seems certain Wilson will have little problem fitting in at the Kansas school.
“Austin is going to play at Central Christian next season,” he said in a post to Facebook. “He is a very versatile player that can play 2B and the OF. He brings a spark to our team with his base-running and pinch-hitting roles. He is a very dependable defensive player that can play positions at the end of games to help us. Austin is a great leader, teammate, and brings an exceptional attitude at practice.”
Marshall, who also played for the Banditos Travel Team, is rated by Prep Baseball Report as a player “with good hands” who hits balls “from gaps to gaps.”
Wilson is excited about what could be next for his former star.
“I am really happy for him that he will continue his baseball career next season,” he added.
