The Northern Texas Professional Golfers’ Association (NTPGA) has been getting comfortable in its new headquarters in Frisco.

The association officially moved in on December 7, Community Impact reported.

The building is called the Dr. Jerry J. Ransom Northern Texas PGA Golf House and is founded on the Frisco PGA campus.

The new PGA home spans 7,000 square feet.

The facility holds two conference rooms, 19 offices, a breakroom, showers, a workspace for interns, lockers, and more, according to Community Impact.

The space was named in honor of Greenville Mayor Jerry Ransom. Ransom contributed to the NTPGA Foundation’s Capital Campaign, which launched in 2020.

“The Northern Texas PGA Foundation does so many wonderful things to grow the game for kids in North Texas, and with the Golf house, I look forward to helping them make a bigger impact. Helping to make the NTPGA’s dream of having their own homesite a reality is something special that I knew I wanted to be a part of,” Ransom said

There are 41 Sections of the PGA of America, according to the organization’s website

The Northern Texas PGA Foundation was founded in 1983 as the Northern Texas PGA Junior Golf Foundation. It was renamed in 2019.

“The Northern Texas PGA is comprised of approximately 900 PGA members and associates employed at more than 300 facilities,” the website shares. “The Northern Texas PGA has 19 full-time staff members and is currently headquartered in Dallas.

“The Northern Texas PGA will be joining the PGA of America national office relocation to Frisco in 2022 with its own state-of-the-art headquarters on the PGA Frisco campus,” the website states.

“In addition to managing the day-to-day affairs of the Section, the Northern Texas PGA also operates a non-profit and charitable foundation that focuses on five pillars: junior golf, college scholarships, inclusion, internships and military & veterans,” it reads.

The NTPGA also is expanding community outreach with The Ronny Golf Park. The entire family can visit the golf park, according to a PGA announcement, and kids can participate in junior programs.

It is a free park open to the public and spans 2 acres. Junior golf programs are scheduled to be started at the new park in the middle of January.

“The Golf Park is named after Ronny Glanton, PGA, who has been the head professional at Sherrill Park Golf Course in Richardson, Texas, since 1985,” a press release states. “He served as President of the Northern Texas PGA Section twice, the only professional in the Section’s history to do so.”

The Ronny Golf Park is located at 16124 Championship Dr., Frisco, and will be open to the public starting on January 16, 2023.
