Netflix has announced it will team up with Sundance Films, NFL Films, and Stardust Frames Productions to produce a 10-part documentary series about Cowboys owner Jerry Jones.

NFL states that the docuseries will tell the “definitive story” of how Jones took over the Cowboys and helped lead them to multiple Super Bowl championships while also “searing his imprint into the global sports business landscape.”

The series will include interviews with Jones, along with retired former Cowboys players Troy Aikman, Michael Irvin, Emmitt Smith, and Deion Sanders, according to Netflix.

Additional interviews will include former Cowboys head coaches Jimmy Johnson and Barry Switzer, Nike founder Phil Knight, and former President George W. Bush.

The series’ executive producers will include David Ellison, Jesse Sisgold, Jon Weinbach, Ross Ketover, Ken Rodgers, Jessica Boddy, Keith Cossrow, Chapman and Maclain Way, and John Skipper, per NFL.

Ketover, a Senior Executive at NFL Films, said in a statement that the company is “incredibly excited to create a thrilling ride through one of the most memorable and high-powered turnarounds in football history.”

“Launching this first series with Skydance Sports marks a momentous occasion for our partnership as we build the premiere sports studio of the future,” he said. “NFL Films coined the term ‘America’s Team,’ so having this first project be about the biggest brand in all of sports is perfectly fitting.”

Dallas Cowboys Executive Vice President and Chief Brand Officer Charlotte Jones released a statement about the docuseries, stating it is “a true honor to be the first to partner with Skydance Sports and NFL Films on this very special and deeply personal project.”

“Sharing my father’s journey and his passion for the game, while presenting it in partnership with this talented and accomplished group will take sports fans, fans of business, families, and everyone watching on an adventure like none other,” she said, per NFL.

Although Netflix and NFL have announced that the docuseries will be made, no official release date has been set.
