Arizona Cardinals quarterback and Allen High School alumnus Kyler Murray is doing his part in the wake of the May 6 Allen Outlet Mall Shooting.

Murray tweeted his frustrations after news of the shooting broke.

“This is sickening,” the quarterback wrote. “Prayers to the mass shooting victims in Allen, Texas. If there is anyway I can help those affected by this tragedy, please let me know…”

Murray made good on his promise by donating $15,000 to a GoFundMe for 6-year-old William Cho, whose parents and little brother died in the shooting. Murray’s donation was the largest made to the page, which has raised more than $1.75 million through more than 34,000 donations.

The Dallas Express has reached out to Murray’s former high school coach, Tom Westerberg, and current Allen High School coach, Lee Wiginton, about the donation.

Other former Allen athletes and local teams also expressed their condolences and anger toward the situation as more details of the shooting were divulged, including Murray’s former teammate and current Detroit Lions defensive lineman Levi Onwuzurike, Washington Commanders running back Jonathan Williams, and former safety Steven Terrell.

“We are beyond heartbroken over yesterday’s shooting within our community in Allen,” said the Dallas Stars through the team’s Twitter account. “We are at a loss for words. Our hearts are with the victims, their families, and the community.”

“So deeply saddened to see the senseless and tragic loss of life yesterday in Allen,” a statement from the Dallas Cowboys read. “Our hearts and prayers are with the victims, their families, and the community.”

The Dallas Mavericks took it a step further and called for action.

“Our hearts and prayers go out to the victims and families impacted by the horrific shooting in the city of Allen,” the team wrote. “We offer our unwavering support to the entire North Texas community. But, we understand this is not enough.”
