The 2025 Masters Tournament is set to tee off on Thursday at Augusta National as reigning Champion Scottie Scheffler looks to become just the fourth golfer in history to defend his title.

The Masters posted to social media on Wednesday to announce the tee times for featured golfers. Scheffler will tee off alongside Justin Thomas and Jose Luis Ballester at 10:15 a.m. ET.

This group will be the second featured group to tee off on the first day, as Collin Morikawa, Joaquin Niemann, and Min Woo Lee will start the weekend with a tee time of 9:47 a.m. ET.

Before the featured groups tee off on Thursday morning, the tournament will officially kick off with Jack Nicklaus, Gary Player, and Tom Watson serving as the honorary starters at 7:25 a.m. ET, per The Augusta Press.

The full schedule with tee times and groups is available on the PGA Tour website.

The 2025 tournament will mark the 89th in Masters’ history. The first tournament was played in 1934, and subsequent tournaments featured many of the best golfers in history.

Current betting odds have Scheffler with the best odds to win at +475, followed by Rory McIlroy at +625 and Morikawa at 14-1, according to ESPN Bet.

Winning a second consecutive Masters Tournament would put Scheffler among the best golfers in the sport’s history, as only Tiger Woods, Jack Nicklaus, and Nick Faldo have won back-to-back tournaments.

Although many of the top golfers have their eyes set on the historic green blazer, the field is full with 95 total golfers looking to perform their best on one of the most difficult courses in the country.

For many professional golfers, just being invited to participate in the Masters is the type of dream they imagined when they were kids.

“I think every time you get the invite you feel kind of blessed to have the invite back here,” said Shane Lowry, who will be playing in his 10th Masters this year, per Golf Digest.

“I love coming back here. When my year starts in January you sort of, this is always in the back of your mind. You always have the second week in April in the back of your mind. I think even sitting at home last week, the build-up to it, I love it. I love thinking about it, I love the flight up here on Sunday and just coming here and getting out here Sunday afternoon. It’s just such a special place. It’s hard to describe what it’s like and what it means to golfers, but yeah, to come here and compete is one thing, to come here and try and to win one would be just something that it would be a dream come true.”

The full purse for the 2025 Masters Tournament is set at $20 million, with the winner receiving the largest piece of the prize at $3.6 million, according to Newsweek.

The second-place finisher will receive $2.16 million for their performance, and the third-place finisher will receive $1.36 million for their participation.
