Mansfield Summit High outfielder/first baseman Brock Wagar plans to continue his playing career at Southwestern Assemblies of God University.

Mansfield coach Johnny Lyell is convinced Wagar, who had at least six schools on his wish list, will fit right in at Assemblies of God.

“Great kid, will do good things at SAGU,” Lyell said of the 5-11 player who also starred for the Texas Cavemen traveling team.

Wagar officially signed with the Texas school back in April. Mansfield finished 3-9 in division this season and 9-19 overall.

Thus far, Wagar is one of two Mansfield athletes to have accepted scholarship offers, joining second basemen, shortstop Farrar Dayton, who has verbally committed to Vernon College.
