Fresh off opening the Class 4 6A state playoffs with series sweeps against their first four opponents, the Keller High School baseball team has raced all the way to No. 2 in the state in the Class 6A rankings.

“Congrats to KHS baseball on their first-round playoff series wins,” reads a thread posted to Twitter. 

At 26-4 overall and 9-1 in league play on the year, Keller now rates behind only top-ranked SA Reagan (31-3). 

The Indians ended the regular-season on a nine-game winning streak during which time they outscored opponents by a cumulative score of 72-18.

Earlier in the year, the Indians also had a 10-game winning streak where they scored at least nine runs on at least eight different occasions.

In their last playoff game last Saturday, they pounded Weatherford 8-2, outscoring their rivals 13-3 over the two-game series  

The Indians will take on the El Paso Americas this coming weekend in second-round playoff play. The best of three series will be held in Lubbock.
