A Collin County civil court judge on Wednesday dismissed the sexual assault claims brought against Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott earlier in the year.

Judge Angela Tucker’s decision to dismiss the claims made against the quarterback comes shortly after the Dallas Police Department reported finding “insufficient evidence” to justify criminal charges being pursued against Prescott, according to ESPN.

Levi McCathern, Prescott’s attorney in the matter, explained that a woman named Victoria Shores got in contact with Prescott’s team earlier this year and claimed that the quarterback assaulted her outside of a Dallas strip club in 2017, according to Fox 4 DFW.

McCathern stated that Shores requested $100 million in exchange for keeping the claims quiet and avoiding interaction with the police.

These requests were denied by Prescott and his team, who opted to file a civil lawsuit against the woman in March, claiming that she was attempting to extort him through false allegations, as reported by The Athletic.

This civil lawsuit then prompted Shores to pursue criminal charges and file a counter-lawsuit in Dallas County, which was later dropped. A similar suit was re-filed in Collin County, per NBC Sports.

While the claims against Prescott were dismissed on Wednesday, Tucker scheduled another hearing on September 13 to evaluate whether sanctions should be levied against Shores and her legal team for bringing claims seemingly lacking merit.

Prescott is reportedly seeking $1 million of compensation in his civil lawsuit. However, McCathern said Prescott is “not seeking any money in those claims” and will give any potential funds to a charitable cause.

“He will be donating 100% of the proceeds that he receives to the charities that support survivors of sexual assault,” he said, per Fox 4 DFW.
