Former Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph was arrested early Saturday in Richardson, Texas after allegedly being involved in a motorcycle crash that left a 27-year-old woman dead.

Joseph, 25, faces charges of driving while intoxicated (DWI), a Class B misdemeanor, and a second-degree felony for involvement in a collision causing personal injury or death.

Authorities say his BMW struck a motorcycle on U.S. Highway 75 around 4:50 a.m. and the motorcyclist, identified as Cody Morris of Plano, was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by WFAA.

Joseph reportedly contacted Plano police at 5:39 a.m., admitted his involvement, and officers at the scene later “observed signs of intoxication,” according to DFW Scanner.

Joseph was subsequently arrested by Richardson police and booked into jail. His bonds were set at $1,000 for the DWI charge and $25,000 for the felony charge, per WFAA.

A former second-round draft pick by the Cowboys in 2021, Joseph has since played for several NFL teams before joining the D.C. Defenders of the United Football League (UFL).

Joseph played just two seasons with the Cowboys after being drafted, collecting a total of 36 tackles and one forced fumble.

Following his time in Dallas, Joseph spent time with the Miami Dolphins, Seattle Seahawks, and Indianapolis Colts.

The UFL has acknowledged that Joseph was involved in an incident but has not provided any significant statement at this time.

The Richardson Police Department’s Special Crash Investigation Team is continuing to work on the case and those with information regarding the crash are encouraged to contact the Richardson Police Department at 972-744-4944.
