Fans of the Texas Rangers will have an opportunity to meet baseball legend Rafael Palmeiro at The CultureMap Tailgate presented by Verizon at The Empire Room on December 9th.
This event is considered to be “an all-out celebration of Dallas sports and the fans that cheer for them,” featuring a plethora of games and activities for attendees.
One of the most notable portions of The Tailgate will be a meet-and-greet with Palmeiro, who spent 10 seasons with the franchise across two separate stints and became known for his prowess at the plate, per CultureMap.
Palmeiro spent a total of 20 seasons in the MLB throughout his career, becoming one of just seven players to pick up 3,000 hits and 500 home runs in their careers.
Palmeiro joins Alex Rodriguez as the only two players in MLB history to have accomplished this feat and not been inducted into the Hall of Fame, though many speculate that the players’ connections to performance-enhancing drugs are the reason why they have not been inducted, per MLB.com
The Tailgate is also expected to highlight many of the local professional sports organizations, including the 2023 World Series Champion Texas Rangers holding a raffle for an autographed baseball, per Culture Map.
The Frisco Roughriders’ mascot Bull Moose will also be in attendance for various giveaways and activities with fans who come to the tailgate.
Food at The Tailgate will be catered by multiple different restaurants from the Dallas area, including “Anaya’s Seafood, Cenzo’s Pizza & Deli, McRae’s American Bistro & Cocktails, Le Rêve Gelato & Pâtisserie, Postino, Snuffer’s, Y.O. Ranch Steakhouse, and more,” per CultureMap.
