Dallas Stars players Jason Robertson and Jake Oettinger have been invited to USA Hockey’s Olympic orientation camp ahead of the 2026 Winter Games roster selection.
USA Hockey announced Tuesday that 44 players will attend the camp on August 26-27 in Plymouth, Michigan. The event is designed for team-building and administrative purposes, with no formal on-ice activities.
This camp is the first step in assembling the U.S. men’s Olympic hockey team for the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo, Italy, scheduled for February 6–22.
The final 25-man roster will be announced in early January.
Robertson is coming off a season in which he scored 35 goals and totaled 80 points, solidifying himself as one of the Stars’ most important players.
Across the past four NHL seasons, Robertson has totaled 151 goals and 348 points in 320 games. Internationally, he has five goals and 16 points in 17 games for Team USA.
Meanwhile, Oettinger is considered a near-lock to make the U.S. Olympic team as one of its goaltenders.
After backing up fellow goalie Connor Hellebuyck at the 4 Nations Face-Off earlier this year, Oettinger posted a 36-18-4 record last season with a 2.59 goals-against average and a .909 save percentage.
Internationally, Oettinger holds a strong record of 8-0-0-1, with a 1.70 goals-against average and a .921 save percentage.
Both players bring vital skills as the U.S. enters a competitive Olympic tournament, the sixth in history to include NHL players.
This USA Hockey orientation camp is set to include some of the most prominent players in the world, including players who represent 24 total NHL teams.
Additionally, the camp includes five Olympians and 12 players from Team USA’s 2025 IIHF World Championship gold medal squad — the country’s first such title in 92 years.
The first six members of the 2026 U.S. Olympic Men’s Ice Hockey Team have already been announced: forwards Jack Eichel, Auston Matthews, Brady Tkachuk, Matthew Tkachuk, and defensemen Quinn Hughes and Charlie McAvoy.
That leaves 19 spots up for grabs, with this camp serving as the first step in the decision-making process.
As the Dallas Stars celebrate the camp selection of Robertson and Oettinger, fans will be watching closely to see whether the pair earn spots on the final roster for the 2026 Winter Olympics.
