The 2023 NCAA Women’s Final Four Championship game between LSU and Iowa was played at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, and the atmosphere was electrifying.

As reported by The Dallas Express, the Tigers defeated the Hawkeyes, 102-85, in the national championship game on Sunday.

The Dallas Express was on hand to cover the Women’s Final Four and speak to fans who came from Iowa and Louisiana to cheer on their favorite college teams.

“It’s electric. It’s exciting,” said Bob Lotz, proudly donning LSU colors.

The American Airlines Center was packed with fans standing in line in each team’s respective colors, purple and gold and black and gold.

Inside the American Airlines Center, everyone was in good spirits, and the crowd went wild for the teams.

Even the NFL’s all-time leader in rushing, Dallas Cowboys great Emmitt Smith, was in attendance, sitting courtside.

In the main plaza, there were lines as far as the eye could see, making it difficult to reach concessions and restrooms.

Fans were excited to see Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese battle it out on the court, and that’s exactly what everyone got.

However, just like the weather turned sour in Dallas with rain and tornado watches being issued across North Texas, so did the mood with some Hawkeyes fans as their team fell behind 17 points at the end of the first half.

But The Dallas Express caught up with one Hawkeye fan, Kara Frandsen, who went to the same high school as star player Caitlin Clark. Frandsen was just glad to experience the Final Four and see her favorite team play for a title.

“It was incredible. I was a basketball player in high school and college, and so to see all of these fans, the sold-out crowd for women’s basketball, is pretty incredible,” said Frandsen, speaking to The Dallas Express.

“I was here a few years ago when the Final Four was here, and there were certainly not that many people here, so it’s really, really amazing to see players like Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese do their thing. It’s a lot of fun. It’s pretty cool,” said Frandsen excitedly.

The 2023 Women’s NCAA Final Four semifinal saw ticket prices higher than the men’s and even outselling the men’s semifinal.

Tickets for Sunday’s women’s championship game started at $167 on StubHub and $131 on Vivid Seats, while Monday’s men’s title game started at $45 and $37, according to ESPN.

The total attendance for the 2023 Women’s NCAA Final Four Championship game was 19,482, a sold-out game.
