Thankfully, the Cowboys dominated the Cleveland Browns 33-17 in their opening game of the 2024 season.
For his part, Prescott completed 19 of 32 passes for 179 yards with one touchdown in the first quarter, connecting with Brandin Cooks for a 21-yard touchdown pass.
In the first half, the Cowboys showed their strength by gaining 216 yards compared to the Browns’ 54 yards. By the end of the first half, the Cleveland Browns were behind 17 points.
The third quarter featured a significant play when KaVontae Turpin caught the Browns’ punt at his own 40-yard line, scoring a 60-yard touchdown, marking his first punt return touchdown and the Cowboys’ first punt return touchdown since the 2017 season.
As the game progressed into the fourth quarter, it became clear that the outcome was all but inevitable. In the final moments, the Browns secured a 4-yard touchdown run, but victory remained with the Cowboys.
The Cowboys will now look to keep up their winning momentum as they play at AT&T Stadium for their 2024 home opener against the New Orleans Saints on September 15 at noon.
