During Sunday night’s win against the New England Patriots, Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott suffered a right calf strain.

Prescott was seen limping off the field after locking in a win against Mac Jones and the team in overtime, 35-29. Fellow teammate Ezekiel Elliott was seen assisting the quarterback off the field and into the locker room.

The injury came after Prescott threw a 35-yard touchdown pass to CeeDee Lamb. After the pass, Prescott injured his right calf. “On the last throw. Came down funny. Great timing going into the bye week,” Prescott shared with the press after the game.

Prescott assured reporters during the post-game press conference that he was not too concerned and would be re-evaluated on Monday.

“That’s the evaluation. That’ll be fine. Have fun with this,” Prescott stated as he closed the conference. The 28-year-old left in a walking boot.

On Monday, it was revealed that Dak Prescott had undergone an MRI. However, Cowboys Executive Vice President Stephen Jones was a little more concerned over the injury. Jones spoke with the radio station 105.3 The Fan on Monday about Prescott’s status.

“Anytime you’re sending your quarterback in for an MRI, there’s a little nervousness, but also know how what a competitor and how tough Dak is, and optimistic that we’re going to get good results there,” Jones stated.

He added, “But certainly we’ll have to see how that comes out, and we’ll be getting those shortly. Hopefully, we’re thinking positive and think that he’ll be hopefully ready to go against Minnesota.”

Luckily, the Cowboys have a bye week coming up in Week Seven of the NFL schedule. With time to heal, Prescott and the team are not expected to return to the field until Oct. 31, when they face off against the Minnesota Vikings.
