Dallas Police want to speak with Dallas Cowboys cornerback Kelvin Joseph about a deadly shooting. The murder happened on March 18 in the lower Greenville section of Dallas.

Cameron Ray, 20, was fatally shot after an altercation with a group of individuals that appeared to include Joseph, according to video footage obtained by Fox 4 News.

22-year-old Kelvin Joseph was a second-round pick of the Cowboys last year out of Kentucky. He also goes by the rapper pseudonym “YKDV Bossman Fat.”

After the altercation, Ray and his friends are seen in more footage walking across a parking lot when a black SUV drove by and fired gunshots in their direction. Ray was shot around 2 a.m. outside of OT Tavern at the corner of Greenville Avenue and Martel Avenue and taken to a hospital, where he passed away.

Ray was from Athens, TX, and only visited Dallas with three friends to celebrate a birthday, Dallas police detective Tonya McDaniel told FOX 4. He and his friends were not responsible for starting the altercation, and police had been working to identify the group seen in the bar’s video footage, including a man in a necklace.

The images released by the station show a man in a hoodie with an apparent “YKDV” necklace.

Joseph started his college career at LSU and was suspended for the 2019 Fiesta Bowl before transferring to Kentucky for one season. In last April’s draft, his selection by the Dallas Cowboys attracted some concerns. A general manager from an AFC team told the Dallas Morning News that Joseph was not considered in the draft by his team because of off-the-field concerns. A second NFL scout said that Joseph failed multiple drug tests in college.

Joseph appeared in ten games for the Cowboys last season and made two starts late in the season as a rookie. Joseph was credited with 13 tackles and two pass deflections for the season.

According to the Dallas Morning News, the Cowboys are encouraging Joseph to speak with the police, and they do not believe he was the shooter.
