The Dallas Cowboys are preparing for the 2025 NFL Draft while Executive Vice President Stephen Jones said the team is still looking to add to the roster in free agency.

Jones spoke about the Cowboys’ offseason and said the franchise is “not done yet” in free agency, hinting at the possibility of multiple moves before the NFL Draft later this month.

“We still got some things that are out standing that we’re trying to get done. Missed a few guys along the way too in terms of the number just being a lot higher than we thought it would be on a couple guys. Overall we’re real pleased with what we were able to do with our roster and help the team,” he explained, per Jon Machota of The Athletic.

Although Dallas did not sign many of the biggest-name free agents during this period, the team did retain multiple key players on long-term contracts.

The Cowboys reached agreements on new contracts with defensive tackle Osa Odighizuw, cornerback C.J. Goodwin, wide receiver KaVontae Turpin, and safety Markquese Bell.

Dallas also added defensive end Dante Fowler Jr., wide receiver Parris Campbell, offensive lineman Robert Jones, defensive end Payton Turner, and running backs Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders.

However, the team also lost backup quarterback Cooper Rush, cornerback Jourdan Lewis, running back Rico Dowdle, defensive end Demarcus Lawrence, and defensive end Chauncey Golston.

Now, the Cowboys will likely look to fill the biggest holes on the roster during the upcoming draft, which is scheduled to begin on April 24.

Jones later said that the team is considering multiple positions with the 12th overall pick in the draft, though Dallas would like to add another player to the wide receiver room to help quarterback Dak Prescott.

“I really like our room. At the same time, obviously losing Brandin Cooks in free agency, we’re still open to looking at a really explosive No. 2 that could upgrade us,” Jones said, per Machota.

Other potential options with this selection include running back, defensive back, and defensive line, though Dallas could also surprise many fans by adding another offensive lineman to help protect Prescott in the pocket.
