TCU has reached the semifinals of the College World Series in Omaha, Nebraska.

The Horned Frogs knocked off Oral Roberts, 6-1, on Tuesday, avenging their lone loss of the round and ending the Golden Eagles’ Cinderella run in an elimination game.

TCU opened the scoring with a bases-loaded walk in the top of the second inning and added another run on a balk by Joshua Caravalho in the third.

Oral Roberts put two runners on base in each of the following two innings but failed to score each time. Two batters failed to plate a run after a perfectly executed sacrifice bunt in the third, and a batter’s interference call hindered the progress made in the fourth.

TCU broke the game open with a four-run fifth, as Cole Fontenelle, Kurtis Byrne, and Anthony Silva all picked up RBIs to stretch the lead to six.

Jonah Cox’s RBI single helped Oral Roberts avoid the shutout in the fifth, but they could not mount a rally against the Horned Frogs’ bullpen, and Cohen Feser struck out Matt Hogan, who thought he had drawn a walk, on a 3-2 pitch to end the game.

TCU will face Florida at 1 p.m. CT on Wednesday. Since the Gators have not lost since getting to Omaha, the Horned Frogs will have to beat them twice to advance to the championship round.

Tennessee and LSU play Tuesday night to determine which team will be the final team in the semifinal and advance to play the No.1 overall seed, Wake Forest.
