Dallas Stars captain Jamie Benn has been suspended for two games after a cross-check on Vegas’ Mark Stone during Tuesday night’s Game 3.

Benn received a five-minute game misconduct for the penalty and was ejected early in the first period.

The captain told reporters on Wednesday that his actions were “unfortunate,” and he had a hearing with the NHL Department of Player Safety later in the day.

Benn will miss Thursday’s Game 4 and a potential Game 5, should the Stars win on Thursday. The suspension will carry over into the start of next season if Dallas is eliminated.
