The 2025 CJ Cup Byron Nelson is set to tee off on Thursday at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney.

This four-round tournament will feature 156 golfers competing in four potential rounds for a total purse of $9.9 million, with the champion receiving an incredible $1.782 million as a reward.

The second-place finisher in this tournament will receive a prize of $1.079 million, while the third-place finisher will receive a prize of $683,100.

This tournament could be filled with birdies throughout each round, with previous winners consistently finishing the weekend below -20; however, new renovations at the course are expected to lower the total scores.

TPC Craig Ranch is now a par-71 layout, lowered from the par-72 layout featured in the first two Byron Nelson tournaments. The type of grass on which golfers will play will also change.

The fairways, tees, and rough are now expected to be made up of the grass TifTuf, which plays faster and firmer than in previous years, according to GolfWeek.

As a result, greenskeepers will be able to cut certain portions of the course to be shorter, making each round more difficult for golfers to manage.

The course has also been lengthened to 7,569 yards, with multiple new tees added during the renovations, per The PGA Tour.

Unsurprisingly, Dallas native Scottie Scheffler is a heavy favorite to win the tournament, boasting +280 odds to finish atop the group.

Scheffler enters the Byron Nelson as the top-ranked golfer in the world and is currently fourth in the FedEx Cup standings, making him the clear favorite to win yet another PGA Tournament.

Scheffler is followed in the betting odds by Jordan Speith at +1800 and Sungjae Im at +2200, with Byeong Hun An and Taylor Pendrith both rounding out the top five at +2500, per CBS Sports.
