The Dallas Cowboys are reportedly set to host Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty on a “Top 30 Visit” before the 2025 NFL Draft.

On Monday night, Calvin Watkins of The Dallas Morning News confirmed that Jeanty will officially visit the Cowboys on April 4.

Jeanty has been one of the most discussed players by Cowboys fans due to his explosiveness and potential at a position where Dallas needs help, as the team has struggled over the past two seasons to consistently run the ball.

Dallas finished the 2024 season with the sixth-fewest rushing yards of any team in the league at 1,705 yards while recording just six rushing touchdowns to finish with the fewest in the league.

The Cowboys also did little to improve the running back room during free agency, adding veterans Javonte Williams and Miles Sanders while allowing Rico Dowdle to sign with another franchise.

Cowboys legend Michael Irvin recently discussed the potential for Jeanty to be drafted by Dallas, noting that an explosive running back can completely change the outcome of games and lead the team to wins.

“Let’s look at what Saquon Barkley and Derrick Henry did for those squads that they played on this year. So, yeah. If you get a chance to get Jeanty and have that kind of production that he’s had, you take him,” said Irvin to Kay Adams on the Up and Adams Show.

Jeanty is also expected to visit the Chicago Bears, who hold the 10th pick in the draft, during the pre-draft process and could add more visits with teams inside the top 10 picks, according to Bleacher Report.

Another potential draft position for the running back could be the Las Vegas Raiders, who hold the sixth overall selection in the draft and could choose to fill a major hole in the backfield.

In the event that Jeanty is selected before the Cowboys draft pick in the first round, the franchise could look to add another wide receiver or additional help along the defensive line.
