Granbury High School golf star Ty Holbrook couldn’t conceive a much better ending for his junior Holbrook.

“It was great having my teammates around me, by my side,” Holbrook said after finishing with a 143 score to tie Highland Park’s Hudson Weibel and Thompson Huthnance for third in individual completion at the UIL State Golf Tournament.

“It just kind of relieved all the pressure,” Holbrook said. “I didn’t think of it as individual. I was more wanting the team to advance than myself individually.”

In following in the footsteps of his older brother and becoming the seventh straight Holbrook to represent the area in state play, Holbrook placed third at the Region I-5A tournament at the White Wing Golf Club in Georgetown.

In a video posted to Facebook, Holbrook intimated he liked his chances going into state play.

“I’m hitting the ball great, playing well,” he said. “I think if I play good I have a really good shot at bringing home the state championship.”
