An arrested was made on May 31 related to the killing of a 21-year-old man fatally shot in east Oak Cliff during an alleged drug deal.

Byron Jocania Davis III, 29, is charged with capital murder in connection with the killing of Ohara Farmer. Davis was apprehended in Wichita Falls, according to The Dallas Morning News.

On May 3, Dallas police were called to a home in the 1300 block of East Waco Avenue after reports of gunfire. The reports were apparently false, and DPD left.

About three hours later, the same caller reported that Farmer was in the residence but not responding. Officers returned to find Farmer on the floor with a fatal gunshot wound.

Investigators were told Farmer allegedly went to the house to drop off 40 pounds of marijuana and a glass container of THC wax in exchange for $70,000.

It was learned that Farmer had apparently arranged a drug deal with two men, including Malcolm Hicks, who was charged last week with capital murder.

The DMN reported police were looking for a male with his hair in a bun. The paper reported Davis appears to have his hair in a bun in his booking photo.

Police believe Davis and Hicks left the home with the marijuana after shooting Farmer.

On Monday, Davis remains in the Wichita County jail on $1 million bail, according to jail officials.
