Among luxury home listings coming on the market in North Texas last month, an estate in University Park came out on top with a price tag of $13.4 million.

In fact, three luxury home listings in the Dallas-Fort Worth metro area were among the most expensive in the Texas real estate market in September.

However, this price premium goes well beyond the upscale housing market, with home values spiking across the metroplex, as covered recently in The Dallas Express.

The top five most expensive areas to buy a home in DFW now include Highland Park (No.1), Westover Hills (No.2), University Park (No.3), Westlake (No.4), and Bartonville (No.5), according to a list compiled by Stacker.

Falling in fourth place in the statewide ranking behind a $29 million estate in Houston, a $14.9 million mansion in Austin, and a $13.5 million property in Burnet, the contemporary estate located at 4020 Glenwick Ln. in University Park is the newest home, having been custom-built in 2019.

Dallas-based Tatum Brown and SHM Architects used horizontal travertine limestone imported from Italy to bring a distinctive yet elegant edge to this 10,111-square-foot domicile.

The property stretches across nearly .6 acres in the elegant neighborhood of Volk Estates.

The next most expensive listing in North Texas in September was a sprawling 16-acre estate in Colleyville.

Listed for $13 million by Trinity Prairie Real Estate, this home was built in 2002 in the style of an English manor.

This fairytale five-bedroom home is located at 6401 Westcoat Dr., featuring an idyllic outdoor setup with two saltwater pools, a glassed pool cabana with a kitchen, a six-bay workshop, and a pond.

“I’ve got a list of everything that’s in the home, and it’s 13 pages; it’s insane,” the listing agent Karen Miears told The Dallas Morning News. “It’s all about entertaining.”

The next local listing rounds out the top 10 most expensive listings seen in September in Texas.

This sublime four-bedroom Southern estate home is listed by Allie Beth Allman & Associates at $11.5 million.

Located in Highland Park at 3825 Potomac Ave., the 7,746-square-foot neoclassical mansion was meticulously crafted by architect Rusty Goff in 2011.
