The quiet Texas ranch of late actress Shelley Duvall is now for sale, offering a rare glimpse into the private life of one of Hollywood’s most iconic actresses.
Sitting on roughly 10 acres about 50 miles north of San Antonio, the property shows the peaceful, low-key lifestyle Duvall embraced after stepping away from the spotlight.
The home itself may be considered modest by some celebrity standards, featuring three bedrooms, two bathrooms, a sunroom, and an office, along with two additional buildings on the property. While it will require some repairs and updates, real estate listings describe the house as a unique opportunity to restore a piece of both Texas and Hollywood history.
Beyond the real estate, a collection of Duvall’s personal items will be auctioned off in October.
Fans can browse through her extensive library of books, vintage clothing, furniture, and memorabilia from her acting career, all available throughout the estate sale. Items from The Shining, Popeye, Nashville, and Faerie Tale Theater will be featured in a special auction scheduled for October 30 at Vogt Auction Galleries, located on Blanco Road near the home.
Despite the celebrity connection, the ranch showcases the understated charm of the Texas Hill Country.
Outside, dozens of birdcages hint at Duvall’s love for her feathered friends, reportedly numbering around 70 at one point, according to The New York Times. Inside, racks of vintage clothing, rare books, and even original movie scripts offer visitors and bidders a tangible connection to her life and career.
Duvall, who passed away at 75 in July of 2024, had spent her final years quietly on the Blanco ranch with her partner, Dan Gilroy.
With the property listed at $699,000, the next owner will be purchasing not just a home, but a slice of Shelley Duvall’s history.
