A more than 500-acre mixed-use ranch on Possum Kingdom Lake has hit the market for $10 million.

Possum Kingdom Ranch is located in Texas’ northern Hill Country, a little more than 100 miles west of Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport. The 546-acre property is situated on the northwest side of the lake, featuring views of the water, the surrounding hills and countryside, and the rugged terrain of Palo Pinto County.

The Texas ranch includes 3 miles of lakeside frontage, seven cabins, a 3,500-square-foot sales center, and two docks. In 2006, the property was master planned for 360-degree lake views, a marina, walking trails, spas, and restaurants, but repeated disruptions, droughts, and a 2011 fire halted its development.

Today, the property features 47 lots, a municipal utility district, and light-to-heavy tree covering, which help shade the ranch’s open pastures. The various species of trees include oaks, mesquite, elm, and hackberry.

“This exclusive, low-density community is like no other — where your RANCH HOUSE is also your LAKE HOUSE,” a property description reads. “The Hill Country atmosphere provides an exceptional setting where lifelong memories are created with family and friends, spending quality time taking in the rustic beauty of the vast ranchland and crystal clear lake.”

A large stone gate offers controlled access to the property at the front entrance, providing security and privacy for residents and visitors.

“It’s a sanctuary from hectic schedules and a safe place where your children can embrace freedom and discover the simple pleasures of the natural world,” the property description states.

The ranch was listed by contract associates David Burgher and Harlan Ray of Sotheby’s International Realty.

Not only does Possum Kingdom Ranch have a variety of on-lake activities, but the property also offers many hunting opportunities.

“Enjoy sitting in a deer blind or taking off in your boat for some water sports activities or to catch the next big fish in PK, riding horses on one of the many trails throughout the property, or simply sitting on a plateau with a coffee watching the world come to life,” Sotheby’s International Realty states in its description of the property.

The Dallas Express reached out to Burgher and Ray for more details about Possum Kingdom Ranch and the property listing but did not hear back by press time.
