After closing on the land and securing financing late last year, a new five-acre rental community by Trademark Property Co. has begun construction, the first of several new apartment buildings.
The new property is being constructed south of downtown Fort Worth at West Vickery Boulevard and Hemphill Street. The project includes 307 apartments, 14 townhomes, and a 5,300-square-foot restaurant.
According to a statement by Trademark, the residential units will include “high-end, luxury finishes and a best-in-class amenity package.” This includes dog parks, pickleball courts, a coworking lounge, and a rooftop lounge, among other perks.
“Groundbreaking is a huge milestone both for the project and this fast-growing region, as multifamily construction starts are down due to the challenged capital markets environment,” Chad A. Colley, Trademark’s multifamily and mixed-use partner, said in a statement, alluding to the historically-high interest rates enacted by the Federal Reserve.
“We are proud to bring these high-quality residences and community amenities to Fort Worth, and we look forward to welcoming our first residents in Spring 2026,” the statement continued, per The Dallas Morning News.
Trademark Property Co. maintains an extensive portfolio of mixed-use real estate. In 2022, The Dallas Express reported on a potential plan the firm considered to tear down parts of Dallas’ flagship Galleria Mall to make room for new apartments, hotel rooms, and offices.
As previously reported by The Dallas Express, building and development in Dallas has seen its share of obstacles, in part due to the inefficiencies at the City’s Development Services Department under City Manager T.C. Broadnax. For his part, Broadnax recently announced he would resign after it became clear his relationship with Mayor Eric Johnson was not conducive to turning around City services.
