Earlier this week, the NRP Group officially announced the opening of a new mixed-income housing community 15 minutes from Downtown Dallas.
Half of the 324 units of the newly opened development will be reserved for individuals and families earning 80% or less than the area median income (AMI). Known as Ascent at Mountain Creek, the development is located at the intersection of Highway 408 and I-20, less than 10 miles from Mountain Creek Lake.
“Ascent at Mountain Creek was created for people, like you, who want to enjoy life in Dallas to the fullest,” says a description on the development’s website.
Residents of the new neighborhood will have plenty of access to green space, a clubhouse with a lounge, a games area, a fitness center with a spin room, a coffee bar, a resort-style pool, fire pits, and more.
“Venture out from your front door onto scenic hiking and biking trails, leading you to Mountain Creek Lake. Ascent is more than a place to live, it’s a lifestyle of comfort, wellness, and natural beauty,” reads the Ascent website.
Ascent at Mountain Creek is located near the headquarters of multiple major companies at the 405-acre Mountain Creek Business Park, including Ulta Beauty, Chewy, and Nestlé. Within a 10-minute drive, residents can also access Target, Home Depot, and the Methodist Charlton Medical Center.
“As Dallas-Fort Worth’s affordability crisis deepens, Ascent at Mountain Creek provides much-needed housing at a mix of income levels for essential workers, from teachers and nurses, to first responders and public transit operators,” said Alena Savera, Vice President of Development at The NRP Group in an April 1 press release.
“We’re grateful for the partnership and collaboration of the city, which has allowed us to deliver a community that meets the diverse needs of Dallas renters and enhances resident quality of life.”
The development consists of 14 three-story, wood-frame buildings. Residents can choose from one-, two-, and three-bedroom options. Apartments.com shows monthly rents ranging from $1,290 to $3,600, with floor plans starting at just over 700 square feet and maxing out at 1,469 square feet.
