(Candy’s Dirt) – It’s July. It’s hot. It’s time to get out of Dallas, and we’ve found the perfect spot to beat the summer heat. It’s a Lake Cypress Springs luxury compound, conveniently located under two hours from Dallas.

Relaxing with family and friends is at the top of every wish list this summer. There’s no better place for that than a lake-front property in the center of some charming Texas towns. Having a home that allows for extended visits without sacrificing privacy is a defining aspect of luxury living. This multi-generational compound provides for every level of entertainment yet offers lovely spaces for solitary contemplation, reflection, and recharging.

Tom Grimes built this compound and it was designed by Jory Gattis with IBB Design. Let’s break down what you get at this luxury resort-style compound. There are over 6,400 square feet of living space on the one-acre property. Twenty people can sleep comfortably in the four unique structures, each designed for maximum comfort and luxury.

The main house is 3,602 square feet and offers beautiful open-plan living, lake views, three bedrooms, a game room, a loft, and a wraparound porch.

A two-story carriage house with 1,236 square feet has dramatic floor-to-ceiling windows on both levels. If I count properly, this structure alone can sleep 10 if you cozy up in the bunk room.

The pool house offers an additional 1,077 square feet, and the guest room over the garage is 499 square feet.

Lake Cypress Springs offers so much more than the usual lake activities because of its proximity to some of the most charming towns in Texas. The area is known for its friendly community and vibrant arts scene.

There is SO Much More to Love at Lake Cypress Springs

Lake Cypress Springs is on the edge of the Texas Piney Woods. Historic Winnsboro and Mount Vernon are only about 15 minutes away with some of the best shops and restaurants. Allie Beth Allman’s Christine McKenny has this Lake Cypress Springs luxury compound listed and has long loved this area.

“Great restaurants are just minutes away, including the Chophouse in Mount Vernon,” she said. “In Winnsboro, there is Sinclair Market modeled after the former Royal Blue in Highland Park Village and housed in an old Sinclair gas station. You can grab a latte, a bottle of wine, or something delicious to eat. Winnsboro also has Z’s MainStreet Eats & Treats, Pyke’s, Pantry and the Barrel House. Winnsboro’s Saturday Farmers Market was ranked among the best farmers markets in Texas. There is a thriving arts scene in The Bowery district downtown with live musical performances year-round, and you don’t want to miss the Winnsboro Art and Wine Festival each November.”

In other words, if the family has decided on a lake day and you want to shop until you drop, you won’t be disappointed! Head out this weekend and check out the concert at the Bowery on July 13.

McKenny has 260 Cypress Marina Drive available for $4.98 million.
