A new luxury multifamily structure is heading to Richardson’s Telecom Corridor.

El Paso-based investment firm Hunt Companies Inc. announced it would develop a luxury apartment building in Richardson called The Caroline Eastside.

The Caroline Eastside is a 384-unit apartment project featuring a clubhouse, a game room, a two-story gym, a rooftop lounge, a dog park, and an onsite co-working space, among other amenities, according to a recent news release from Hunt Companies, and it will also have access to Central Trail.

“The Caroline will provide ideally located, modern Class-A residences to support the growing demand for multi-family housing in Richardson,” Ben Wullschlager, senior vice president with Hunt and the project developer, said in the release. “We’re excited to add a complementary property to The Mallory and play a role in realizing the vision of Richardson’s Eastside.”

Located at 1735 North Greenville Ave. in the heart of Richardson’s Telecom Corridor, The Caroline Eastside will be adjacent to Hunt’s sister property, The Mallory Eastside, and conveniently situated minutes from UT Dallas.

A groundbreaking ceremony was held for the project on March 9, with local officials, company executives, and several representatives in attendance, reported Community Impact.

“The Caroline Eastside will provide critical capacity in high-end multifamily living while creating an upscale resident experience in a vibrant area of Richardson,” Richardson Mayor Paul Voelker said in the news release.

Much like its sister property, The Caroline Eastside will have a mix of unit sizes ranging from studio apartments to three-bedroom units. It was designed with spacious floor plans that contain high-end finishes and eco-friendly features.

The project is partnered with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development to finance the multifamily apartment building. Walker Dunlop is serving as the lender for the project.

“As Richardson attracts more leading technology and innovation companies our population continues to grow, and we need partners like Hunt Companies to help us meet our housing demands,” Voelker said in the release.

Addison-based HEDK Architects designed The Caroline Eastside, and KWA Construction is leading the construction. ZRS Management will handle the management and leasing aspects. Move-ins are scheduled to start sometime in early 2025, according to the current projection from Hunt.
