Officials in Frisco unanimously approved the proposed site plan for a new hotel in the city’s Firefly Park development.

The Frisco Planning & Zoning Commission approved the plans for the 190-room Dream Hotel on March 25. The multi-use building will also include 124,000 square feet of office space.

The property will be located on 3.7 acres at the southeast corner of Brixley Boulevard and Breezeway Boulevard, and construction will kick off during the final quarter of 2025.

Before that time, Wilks Development LLC, the developer behind the urban village of Firefly Park, told the Dallas Business Journal that infrastructure work is forecast to wrap up by the end of April. Afterward, construction is expected to begin on The Noc, a five-story apartment complex, and Cana at Firefly Park, a 5,000-square-foot chapel and private event venue. Both projects are expected to kick off in the third or fourth quarter, depending on how permitting unfolds.

“Where urban sophistication meets unparalleled natural beauty and world-class amenities,” reads a description of the 217-acre Firefly Park.

At full buildout, Firefly Park is expected to include 400,000 square feet of retail, entertainment, and dining, over 200 lock-and-leave townhomes, more than three million square feet of class “A” office space, and a “World class 45-acre park like no other in the region,” according to the development’s website.

The urban village will also have a 3,000-guest amphitheater and over 1,200 hotel rooms, including those from the forthcoming Dream Hotel.

Wilks Development acquired the land that would become Firefly Park in 2015. Construction of the development will occur in three phases over the next ten years and cost upwards of $4 billion. Phase one, including the Dream Hotel, is slated for completion in 2027.
