A restaurant group based in Chicago plans to establish a new flagship restaurant concept in The Seam, located in the Dallas Design District.
The restaurant will anchor the upscale shopping complex, which is expected to open next year. The currently nameless concept is being brought to Dallas by the independent and family-owned restaurant group Lettuce Entertain You.
Lettuce Entertain You currently operates more than 100 restaurants and 60 concepts around the country. Its award-winning establishments include Summer House, Three Dots and a Dash, Beatrix, and others.
The company’s entrance into The Seam will mark its second location in the Lone Star State, following the opening of its Mediterranean restaurant Aba in Austin in 2020.
Once complete, The Seam will boast 160,000 square feet of dining, shopping, and wellness concepts, said Asana Partners, per Dallas Innovates. Its goal is to create a “dynamic environment” for its visitors.
Famous neighborhoods, like the Meatpacking District in New York City, are helping inspire the complex’s design direction. Expect high-end dining and trendy shopping establishments.
“Lettuce Entertain You’s entrance to Dallas marks a significant milestone in the evolution of the Design District, a neighborhood that’s rapidly becoming a destination for elevated shopping and dining. We’re curating an environment at The Seam where best-in-class food, fashion, and art come together, and Lettuce is a perfect reflection of that vision,” Clare Walsh, managing director of leasing strategy at Asana Partners, owner of the project, said in a statement.
New York-based Morris Adjmi Architects has been tasked with designing The Seam.
“Our planning and design approach was centered on enhancing connectivity and establishing The Seam as the social and geographical heart of the Design District,” added MA’s founder and principal, Morris Adjmi, in a statement.
“We reconfigured the site’s overall layout, removing portions of the existing complex that obstructed visual and physical connections to Slocum Street. This intervention not only opened up the site but also strengthened pedestrian linkages throughout the district to create a vibrant, seamlessly connected community hub that reflects and elevates the spirit of the area,” he said.
